To date, we have vaccinated 203 374 persons in the Overberg District, this includes healthcare workers (as part of the Sisonke trial) and educators.
This week is the last week for healthcare workers who formed part of the Sisonke trial to receive their booster shot. We encourage all Healthcare workers to get their booster dose ahead of the end of Sisonke 2 programme on 17 December 2021. “The 4th wave is upon us, and we need to get as many healthcare workers as possible to be fully protected before the Sisonke 2 programme ends by Friday. Look out for the nearest Sisonke vaccination sites advertised this week and make arrangements to get your booster shot. Vaccinations are our only defence against severe illness and death. For the sake of your loved ones, do not hesitate any longer,” says Dr Trevor Pillay, Medical Manager for the Theewaterskloof Sub-district.
With the new Omicron variant rapidly spreading, vaccination is more important than ever before to protect against severe illness and death. We once again appeal to those who have not yet been vaccinated to take up any of the many opportunities we are providing within their communities. Get vaccinated and be protected, especially as we are entering the fourth wave.
We will continue our efforts to increase uptake of vaccination in all groups. To make sure vaccines are widely available the following pop-up sites will be open this week.

Don’t delay, go today, and get vaccinated so you can be protected!
