At the Lantern Self-Catering Cottages, you have three options for accommodation: The Karoo Cottage, The Thatch Cottage, and The Annex Cottage.

The first two are luxury apartments that come with fast fibre internet, a communal trampoline, and a pool. There is a queen-sized bed in The Karoo and a king-sized bed in the Thatch.

Meanwhile, The Annex cottage is designed for those overnighting in Swellendam. It comes with two single beds, a shower, coffee-making facilities, and an outdoor couch to relax in with a nightcap.

People staying in this accommodation option also have access to the pool.

Activities at Lantern: Everything To Do Is Right Around The Corner

The pool and trampoline offer ample entertainment for the kids (and even some adults), outside the Lantern Self Catering Cottages lay a world of adventure.

This includes mountain biking, with four recently crafted and totally free trails offering fun for beginner and intermediate riders.

There are also hiking trails on the Marloth Nature reserve, and game drive opportunities at the Bontebok Nature reserve plus, unique experiences like mushroom picking and, for the kids (and adults) the Swellendam Fairy Sanctuary.

Pet-Friendly Holidays: Bring Your Pets… Just Not Unannounced

You can bring your pets, as long as you make arrangements with Owner Gabriela Slegrova ahead of time.

They also have two cats on the premises and are considering their safety. But if your pets are well trained, then Slkegrova and her won’t have a problem having them around.

There is also a vet shop and clinic not far from the venue, should your fur baby fall ill or get hurt in any way.

Lantern Self Catering Cottages Prices & Specials

You can book The Karoo Cottage for R1000 per night in the off-season and R1200 per night in-season. On the other hand, The Thatch goes for R1200 off-season and R1400 in-season.

The Annex costs R500 per night throughout the year, but you must stay a minimum of two nights.

There is also a 20% discount for weekday bookings and, a 10% discount for booking of three days or more. 50% payment is required to confirm the booking.
