NOTICE: REQUEST FOR PUBLIC NOMINATIONS FOR SWELLENDAM’S AESTHETICS AND CONSERVATION COMMITTEE
Notice is hereby provided in terms of Section 155 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, (Act 108 of 1996) that Council invites nominations for the appointment of six (6) people to serve on the Swellendam Aesthetics and Conservation Committee
The purpose of the Committee is to act as a watch dog for, and to advise on, the aesthetic, heritage and cultural conservation of our streetscapes and on buildings as defined in the National Heritage Resources Act, 1999 (Act No. 25 of 1999).
In order to meet the above requirements, members of the Committee must possess the necessary skills, competence and judgement to be able to offer appropriate advice, to members of the public and to the Administration. All nominations must be accompanied by a written statement of the nominee’s reasons to serve on the Committee and his/her relevant training, skills and/or competence.
The appointment will be done by the Swellendam Municipal Council. Members of the committee will serve on a voluntary basis, for a period of 3 years, which may be extended.
Nominations, marked “Nominations – Swellendam Aesthetic and Conservation Committee” must reach the Acting Municipal Manager not later than 19 September 2022 at 12h00. Nominations can be posted to the Acting Municipal Manager, P.O Box 20, Swellendam, 6740

Persons who cannot read or write are requested to contact their nearest Municipal office, where they will be assisted by a Municipal official to submit a written nomination.
