MEDIA STATEMENT: STRINGENT COVID-19 MEASURES FOR THE NEXT 14 DAYS TO COMBAT SHARP INCREASE IN CASE NUMBERS
COVID-19 case numbers have escalated from less than 10 cases 7 days ago to 139 positive cases today, 21 June 2021. Five additional deaths have been recorded. Primary hotspots have been identified as Suurbraak and Buffeljagsrivier, while Swellendam currently has 34 positive cases.
The Swellendam Joint Operations Centre Disaster Management recommends the implementation of the following measures immediately.
MEDIA STATEMENT: UPDATE REGARDING THE NATIONAL ROAD AND TIME TRIALS CHAMPIONSHIPS: 18 – 21 MARCH 2021
In light of the return to amended Alert Level 3 regulations over December 2020 and January 2021, Cycling South Africa, its affiliates and Swellendam Municipality, confirmed that it would postpone National Road and Time Trial Championships as initially scheduled for 5 – 7 February 2021 to 18 – 21 March 2021, pending approval for hosting the event.
